Message to Sen. Charles Schumer

Message to Sen. Charles Schumer

NEW YORK, Aug. 9—Diane Sare, the LaRouche independent candidate for U.S. Senate from New York today sent the following message to her opponent in the November election, Sen. Charles "Chuck" Schumer (D-NY):

Sen. Charles Schumer
322 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Schumer,

By now, you must be aware that the Ukranian “Center for Countering Disinformation,”an agency for which you secured U.S. funding, has placed me and 71 others on a blacklist, calling me an “information terrorist,” and threatening to charge me with “war crimes!” This is not only defamation, but also implies a risk to my physical safety. Former U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence Officer and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter who was also on blacklist, has asked you and Sen. Gillibrand to answer as to whether you knowingly funded the activity of an organization seeking to undermine First Amendment rights of American citizens.

I am requesting that you repudiate the blacklist and publicly defend my right to express my opinion about the situation with regard to Ukraine, and all other matters, as is appropriate for a candidate for Federal Office. U.S. taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund foreign agencies which are threatening the reputation and physical security of American citizens, much less candidates for public office. Is it not absurd that your fellow Senator Rand Paul has been called an “information terrorist” by this agency merely for requesting accountability on the tens of billions of dollars being set to the Ukrainian regime? Have you no shame?

I believe that as a member of the United States Senate you have sworn to uphold the Constitution of our Republic. Will you honor that commitment? The voters of New York have the right to know. If not, you have no place in the U.S. Senate.

I await your response.

Diane Sare
Independent LaRouche candidate for U.S. Senate (NY)
