LaRouche’s Oasis Plan for Palestine and Israel: An Urgent Necessity
February 23, 2024–As an independent LaRouche candidate for U.S. Senate, I condemn the decision of my government to veto, yet again, a resolution for a ceasefire in Israel's genocidal onslaught against the Palestinian people. The attack by Hamas of October 7, 2023 was an atrocity which cannot be justified, and must also be condemned. However, no tragedy, no matter the magnitude, can be an excuse for genocide, which is what is now occurring in Gaza, where over 100,000 Palestinians are dead, wounded, or missing, and where over 90% of children under five are malnourished and infected with one or more diseases. If this is not halted, hundreds of thousands will soon die of disease and starvation.
Under such horrific conditions, it is difficult to concentrate on anything more than just getting a stop to the slaughter, release of the hostages, and bringing in massive humanitarian relief. But that alone doesn’t do justice to the over 10,000 Palestinian children and 36 Israeli children whose lives were ended starting on October 7, by violence in which they had no part.
The only way out of this tragedy is from the future. Can you envision what the nations of Palestine and Israel will look like in a century from now? Will each of them be home to over 50 million prosperous and highly educated individuals who live side by side in brotherly love? Why not? Isn’t this particular region of Southwest Asia home to three monotheistic religions, which have each contributed to the development of humanity as a whole? Why should anyone wish destruction of his brothers and sisters under God?
This is why I have expressed my wholehearted endorsement of Lyndon LaRouche’s Oasis Plan to develop this region based on the latest breakthroughs in science and industry, which would create the conditions for the future described above.
