Diane Addresses Ballot Access at National Meeting in D.C.

Aug. 21, 2023 (EIRNS)—Candidate Diane Sare addressed the Libertarian Party National Executive Committee at their national meeting in Washington, D.C. this past week. Sare served on a public Panel on Ballot Access for parties who are outside the “two potty” system. Joining her on the Panel were national representatives from the Libertarian, Constitution and People’s parties. The meeting was live streamed. The Panel was riveted on the “secret”—how Sare had organized her supporters to collect 66,000 signatures, statewide, in New York in 2022, to place her on the ballot.

Angela McArdle, national head of the Libertarian Party, was thrilled to hear that Sare’s petitioners held a nightly Zoom call to hear the poetry of Shakespeare and Shelley read, and to debrief on the successes and problems of the day. Hearing this, Larry Sharpe, the former Libertarian Party candidate for governor of New York, responded, “Now, I know why the Libertarians couldn’t get on the ballot!”

Sare’s descriptions of both the organizing process of her campaign, and the subsequent wild stealing of her vote, left the Panel stunned. Sare’s reports tended, happily, to dominate the lively discussion. Angela McArdle made an impassioned, principled point: “We must form coalitions,” to break both the criminal denial of ballot access and the massive vote fraud.
