Press Availability: Don’t let Goldman Sachs steal our healthcare!

Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, corner of East 16th St and First Ave
Independent U.S. Senate candidate Diane Sare will hold a press availability to demand a halt to the planned closure of the 799-bed hospital.
“I have looked into the backgrounds of the trustees of Mount Sinai Health Systems and found them to be solely interested in the real estate value of the location, and not whether my future constituents on the lower East Side have access to health care when they need it. The proposals to direct patients to Bellevue and elsewhere for emergency care are absurd, as everyone knows that the emergency rooms all over the city are overflowing, with hours of waiting – a situation which has been exacerbated by the influx of over 100,000 migrants in the past year,” said Sare.
Sare believes that this shut down is just a particularly egregious example of looting the most vulnerable members of society--the sick and elderly--in order for a handful of ultra rich to make a profit.
“Ultimately, of course this will backfire, because it will drive a growing number of taxpaying New York City residents out of the area, and no one will be interested in moving into the area, as planned by the speculators who are so eager to get their hands on the real estate.”
Sare will name the names of the trustees who are behind this land grab and discuss her plans to address the healthcare crisis in New York State.
